I am always one to get involved when it comes to diabetes...whether it be volunteering, attending support groups, mentoring, going to events for D families, fundraising, advocating, educating, whatever!! Well Saturday was FULL of those type of events... there was the CHAP Diabetes Art Group AND the JDRF Hope Gala. But there was something MORE important I had to attend to....
'O' Yeah!!
OREGON FOOTBALL!!!
Saturday was the Ducks Spring Game. It is a scrimmage...Ducks vs. Ducks. While I am not big on watching a game where I can't really cheer on one team over the other, getting a taste of football to come is great! We have gone every year for at least the past 6 years. It has always been a small affair...a few thousand people in the stands which look pretty empty. Last year after being in the Rose Bowl, they had a record 25,000+ people attend the Spring Game. Well THIS year after going to the BSC National Championship Game, over 43,000 fans came out. It was so cool to see an almost full stadium for a scrimmage!! They use the event to support our troups. I love that, and seeing all the service men and women being honored. Anyhow, for us, the BEST part is getting to run on the field after the game.
Bryce lost his first tooth!! Right there ON the field at Autzen Stadium!! How cool is that!
Only 4 more months till football season! GO DUCKS!
Looks like so much fun and that is wonderful that he lost his first tooth at the stadium. A real "memory maker" for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! What a memorable day!
ReplyDeleteOh, football!! I miss football. I was in the marching band in high school and so was my sister, so it was 7 straight years of every weekend. I also grew up in a house that if there was a game to watch, it was on the TV. Didn't matter who was playing...any game would do.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day it sounds like you all had!
Congrats on the tooth, too!! That was the exact same one Bean lost last week! :) That first one is such a huge deal!
